Hartfield is growing and we are excited to kick off a new school year! Did you know that over Hartfield’s six years of existence, enrollment has increased each year? Last year we had 790 students and when our doors open this year on August 7th, we will have over 840 students between both of our campuses. This means Hartfield will be among the Top 10 MAIS schools in an association with over 100 members!
We’ll have the privilege and challenge of competing at a higher level in athletics and are seeking to expand other programs to meet our needs. But one thing that will remain unchanged by our growth is that your students will continue to be led by a leadership team and faculty that is knowledgeable, caring, and committed to a Christ-centered education that is both personal and equipping. This is part of the reason why we continue to maintain an average class size of 18 students, with preschool classes being even smaller.
Speaking of classes, our teachers are excitedly preparing for your child and looking forward to next week. I cannot say enough about the impressive faculty and staff that will be teaching and serving our students this year. We have expanded an already impressive staff with this year’s group of new teachers and coaches. Our goal is to have all their biographies updated on the website within the next week so you can learn more about each new member of our staff.
When talking about Hartfield’s growth, it is hard not to note the development of our new facilities. In fact, if you drove by Lakeland Drive this summer, it was nearly impossible to miss the incredible progress on our West Campus. I’m thrilled to report that all of our expansion and renovation plans are on schedule. I truly believe you will share my sense of pride and anticipation as we continue to watch the changes unfold. Very soon, our students will be learning and interacting in the best facilities in the area. When you arrive next week, you will find new parking lots and a perimeter drive ready for carpool. We are all looking forward to enjoying the new high school, theater, and other elements of the facility expansion in August 2018.
Along with growth come many new families and I hope you will be intentional to welcome and meet new people over the next several months. I’ve asked our faculty and staff to reach out to our new students and get them involved in the many activities Hartfield offers. I hope you will do the same with the new parents you interact with as we welcome them into our Hartfield family.
Lastly, I’m excited to share about a new dining program for Hartfield Academy led by Valley Foods. I look forward to seeing the benefits that our students will enjoy on both campuses from this new partnership. Be looking for details in the coming days with steps for registration and more information.
As always, thank you for trusting us with your child. We consider it a privilege to partner with you in preparing your student academically, emotionally, and spiritually for the next stages of life.
